Katarzyna Dorota Raczyńska

My research is focused mostly on RNA processing mediated by U7 snRNP. Besides, I am interested in bird watching, running, hiking and brewery.
Anna Bieluszewska
postdoc
Anna received her MSc in Molecular Biology from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. She pursued her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Elzbieta Poreba and, upon graduation, joined the research group of Prof. Piotr Ziolowski. In September 2020, she began her postdoctoral training in Dr. Kavitha Sarma’s lab, where she explored the connection between gene expression, chromatin structure, and human disease, focusing on ATRX and ADNP syndromes. In December 2024, Anna joined the Laboratory of RNA Processing to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying ALS.
Patrycja Świergiel
PhD student
Patrycja graduated from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań with a Master’s degree in Biotechnology. In her master thesis she studied the interaction of the protein hnRNP UL1 with selected proteins in the cell nucleolus. In October 2022 she started her PhD studies, where she continues to work in K. Dorota Raczynska’s group. Her PhD research is focused on the molecular mechanisms underlying the synthesis of sdRNAs – small RNAs derived from mature snoRNAs (small nucleolar RNAs) mediated by the Fused in Sarcoma (FUS) protein. In her spare time, she’s interested in topics in the field of pharmacology and cosmetology, and she’s also an avid music enjoyer
Robert Pasieka
PhD student
Robert is a graduate of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań with a Master’s degree in Biotechnology. During his undergraduate studies, he studied interactions of long intergenic non-coding RNA molecules with proteins in human cells in the RNA maturation laboratory. In October 2021 he started his PhD studies in our team and investigates the interactions between U7 snRNA and selected lincRNA molecules and the functions of these molecules. Robert knows that in order to use his mind optimally, he should keep his body in the best condition. In his free time, you’ll find him on a sports mat, hitting a boxing bag.
Zuzanna Stopczyk
PhD student
I graduated from the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań with a master’s degree in Biotechnology. During my master thesis I identified variants in selected genes correlated with ALS disease in 24 patients.October 2024 I started my PhD and I investigate the influence of the LINE-1 retrotransposon on neurodegeneration in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) associated with a mutation in the FUS gene.I enjoy horse riding, playing video games and watching true crime.
Iga Kapuścińska
PhD student
Iga is a graduate of Adam Mickiewicz University, where she is currently pursuing her PhD. Her research focuses on the heterogeneity of ribosomes in ALS, specifically in relation to the FUS protein. Beyond her academic work, she is passionate about bikepacking, immerses herself in the world of Dungeons & Dragons, and has a particular love for tofu.
